Shawn Lacey is a guitarist/composer who has spent most of his time in Arizona, Colorado and the Pacific Northwest picking up inspiration for his music. He is left-handed but plays the guitar right handed. Having won recognition from the American Song Festival years ago for Song Lyric Writing, he hasn't written a lyric since. Although he can sing, he prefers to record songs without vocals - so far.

Influences include Hendrix, Page, & Clapton but also Jean-Luc Ponty, Carlos Santana, Robin Trower & Pat Metheny. He has also been traveling a lot of late, and spends a good deal of time in Canada. He has captured many images with a camera and also created a number of DAPI (Digitally Altered Photographic Images) which can be viewed at his Fine Art America page.

ASCENT is the first album CD released by this artist. It is an eclectic exploration of jazz, blues and rock composition with a basis in many jazz and rock guitar influences from the 20th century. After years of recording his original compositions, he plans to release two more albums over the next year or so. As an independent artist he does it all, now working with CDBABY.COM to bring his dreams to reality.
