Sonnenkind (sun child) is a German folk singer-songwriter. He was born in 1980 and began to write folk-styled songs, played with guitar, in 1996. Musically he is influenced by other singer-songwriters, left-winged Reinhard Mey as well as nationalist Frank Rennicke, romantic Neofolk acts like Forseti or Orplid and folk musicians/songwriters from different countries like Trinh Cong Son (Vietnam), Ewan McColl (Scotland) or Fikret Kizilok (Turkey). His lyrics take an own stand, not trying to fit in simple ideological schemes. Among the topics are love for the German people and its culture, national self-consciousness without arrogance, a strong opinion against the democratic government, which he sees as puppets of Zionism and US-imperialism. Other nations suppressed by the New World Order criminals find his clear sympathy. But politics are just one topic, very important is the praise of traditional values, there are thoughts about God and spirituality. And there is romantic poetry about "love and nature", soul landscapes might be a fitting term. Several lyrics show different layers of meaning.
His first album, "Völkerfrühling" ("Spring of nations") was released in 2005, it was badly played and poorly produced, but had some strength in the singer's original voice and the above-average lyrics.
The second album is named "Eulenspiegels Wiederkehr" was recorded from 2012 and 2013 and will be released in spring 2014, ranging from satirical songs to purest romanticism.
