Vortesvin is a Canadian Metal band from Waterford, Ontario, formed in 2021. The band comprises multi-instrumentalist, Nathan Pearson. What began as a melodic death metal project has now evolved into much, much more. Nathan Pearson would go on to include various different styles into the mix, eventually transforming Vortesvin into a multi-genre powerhouse.

In Fall of 2021, following 2 singles and an EP, Vortesvin finally released its debut album: “Infernal Domain”; a melodic death metal record with elements of black metal and deathcore. Vortesvin would go on to release “Messiah”, a single with a similar sound to the debut record, as well as “Dead Men Dwell In Hell”, the band’s second EP, and the first release to venture into a traditional death metal sound. Finally, Vortesvin released “Pure Decay”; a raw black metal single, unlike anything Vortesvin had released before.

In Early 2022, Vortesvin unleashed: “Away From Humanity”: the second full-length album. Away From Humanity ditched the melodic death metal sound for which Vortesvin was initially known, in favour of atmospheric black metal. A mere two weeks later, Vortesvin released its third full-length LP: “What Remains of the World”, to critical acclaim. This record explored a commercially influenced deathcore sound.

Not long after that, Vortesvin put out a fourth record, in the form of a melodic black metal concept album called: “In Our Palace Divine”. This effort combined the darker sounds explored on Away From Humanity with the melodic riffing of Infernal Domain. Vortesvin’s first single of 2022,” The Five Stages of Grief” was released shortly afterwards. Clocking in at over 48 minutes, this release explored a Funeral Doom sound and was the final release of 2022.

Nathan Pearson announced on his Instagram account that Vortesvin would go on hiatus following the release of “The Five Stages of Grief”. On February 3rd 2023, He announced his latest offering: The Beauty of Extinction, a 90-minute progressive death metal opus with symphonic and jazz elements. Read more on Last.fm.
