Day Two was a post-hardcore/alternative rock band from Salt Lake City, Utah, United States.
For many, comfort in the routine of life is adequate. For some, that adequacy will never suffice. For the five members of the melodic hardcore band Day Two, comfort comes from an unconventional source. Drummer Matt Sweitzer says, “Being able to put all of our energy, feeling, and conviction into our live show is one of the most important things for us as a band. It’s where I think we feel most comfortable as a band, sharing our music with other people.” That comfort on stage often leads to a sight that only someone who has seen Day Two play can explain. Start with flailing guitars and screaming vocals, add the undeniable energy and emotion portrayed in the band’s music and chaos is what ensuses on stage. For Day Two the story goes something like this:
Formed in March, 2002, hailing from Salt Lake City, Utah, the band recorded a five song demo entitled “Killing The Silence”, which gave us a taste of what was to come. Soon after, the band started opening up for such acts as From Autumn To Ashes, The Movielife, A Static Lullaby, and the Rise.
After their first tour up the west coast, the band realized that they may be on to something special. When they returned home they decided to start writing some new material. So in November of 2002 they started making plans to write and record the new songs.
After a few months in the studio, Outline Records became interested in putting out the material. Not to much later the band and Outline Records agreed to put the album out to the masses. In July 2003, with the help of their new record label the album know as “Never Come Home” was released.
The band plans to tour extensively in the upcoming year, and will do what it takes to get their passion for music out to people. For the five members of Day Two comfort comes from being able to do what they love, play music.
