Benny Loco is Ian Guthrie, a Florida native transplanted to Boulder, CO. He makes melodic, IDM influenced, beat-driven electronic music. He draws his influences from everyday life, photographs, love, books, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager. Most of his days are spent locked in his apartment flipping through records, banging on synthesizers, and goofing around on Ableton Live. Guthrie is also a Masters Degree Candidate at the University of Colorado in Boulder. Benny Loco is also well known for his self-derisive humor, ability to quote from The Simpsons, and his live show which perfectly combines melodies and beats to create a live experience that is both dirty and beautiful.

His forthcoming EP, Just Some Remixes, Vol. 1, features a new Loco original, and remixes by: Prepschool, Michal Menert, Paul Brandt, Leo 123, and others. It should see release by late 2010 / early 2011.
