The Tin Box is a stage name for electronic musician Tucker Sferro, a Brooklyn-based American electronic musician. Tucker composes and performs largely under the idm and downtempo genres, with influences spanning many, including drum and bass, chillout electronica, ambient, electronic pop, and classical music. His first album created under the pseudonym, The Tin Box, was released March 10, 2015. Titled, “Optimism,” the album explores lush and textured melodies, layered breakbeats, and abstract vocals.

A self-taught musician, Tucker Sferro began his music career first as a guitarist and electronic music producer, then bassist, with various bands in the late 90s and the 2000s, from the University of Vermont to New York City. Going forward, he seeks to infuse the electronic music genre with uplifting, cinematic, philosophizing melodies and layered, refreshing beats. Tucker Sferro sees “Optimism” as an expression of what he enjoys most about music in general: the ability to impart a feeling of elated anticipation.
