Niels Jørgen Steen (born 7. februar 1939) is a danish piano player and orchestra leader.
Niels Jørgen Steen started early with Arnvid Meyers orchestra, that often had Ben Webster and Harry Edison with them as guest solist.
He had Niels Jørgen Steens Beatkapel in the 70s, and conducted DR Big Band.

In 1987 he formed The A-Team, a jazz super group, initiallly with vocals by Peter Thorup later by Bobo Moreno. He also collaborated with Tommy Kenter on stage.
Later he conducted Monday Night Big Band in Paradise Club in Copenhagen, playing Steen arranged big band jazz. He also leads Tivoli Big Band. Beatkapellet, The A-team og Monday Night Big Band have alle released cd´s.

His biggest fame in his homeland may come from his compositions for danish television, not least for classic children shows. Niels Jørgen Steen is father to Nikolaj Steen and Paprika Steen.
