The Big Sweet is comprised of four high school seniors from Northeast Ohio. Their unique style of indie rock blends post punk, power pop, baroque and experimental elements and reflects advanced musical maturity for their age. Their influences include Television, Pavement, Big Star, XTC and many others. They have played with many nationally touring acts such as The Lemonheads, The Smithereens, Cracker, Josiah Wolf, and Will Hoge. In April 2010, their first full-length album, Shot of Bliss, was released. The album’s closing track, “I’m Sold Out,” has been featured on the national television channel, Major League Baseball Network. The band's second album, Ultraviolet Rain, was released in June 2011. The album has already garnered many highly positive reviews locally, regionally, and nationally (Artist Direct, Popdose, Cleveland Scene Magazine, When You Motor Away, Parasites and Sycophants, Absolute Powerpop).
