Airlift was the high school band of singer Ryan Milardo (The Modern Loss), guitarist David Stearns (Outspacer), drummer Ben Laine (Fancy Trash, Pictures of Animals), and bassist Nathan Stearns (To the Masquerade, Project 1.9). Formed in 1997, the basement band played out in western Massachusetts and parts of Connecticut but went their separate ways in 2002 where the members pursued higher education and other bands.
