Frozen Inertia (http://frozeninertia.com) began as a recording project in 1998 by Timothy Graves (guitar, bass, vocals, computer) and Brad Palmer (drums, keyboards, computer) in the small, small town of Canal Fulton, Ohio (Now Chicago and Ohio). Most of the songs would begin as a drum recording or a basic guitar part, and would morph into a complete song.

The initial recordings were mixed using a primitive audio multi-track program on an even more primitive laptop computer borrowed from Tim's Dad (which his Dad borrowed from work).

As funding and technology increased, the next two subsequent releases ("Hemi-demisemiquaver 1999" and "Frozen Inertia and Their Fake Band 2000") were recorded using a Tascam 4 track and a 256MHz Compaq with a 2 gig hard drive. As technology increased so did their band members, "Their Fake Band" featured over 14 musicians. Their 2002 album (Phase 4) was upgraded to a 1GHz Gateway computer and featured more electronic instruments as a result.

Their 2004 album "The First of The Fifth" was written in 2 locations; Chicago, IL and Canal Fulton, Ohio. It's about change and traveling to different places and observing different things... The cities traveled include; Detroit, Los Angeles, Huntington Beach, Richmond, Toledo, Chicago, and random rest stops in Pennsylvania. Please visit http://fimusic.org for more details regarding this release.

Frozen Inertia is currently (2006) working on compilation of Educational and Humourous songs which should be complete before the end of summer. Some of the songs include subject matter related to the Periodic Table of Elements, Upton Sinclair, Louis Carroll, and the Puritan Religion. The album will be featured on CD baby (www.cdbaby.com/frozeninertia ) as an online download.
