Tyren Perry began her musical career in the 1980's female duo Tahiti, along with Tonya Townsend. The group's songs were used on the soundtrack for "The Real Ghostbusters" cartoon, and a soundtrack album was released on Polydor Records in 1986.

As a solo artist, Tyren released an album in 1989, "Don't Rush it". One single from this album peaked at #92 on the Billboard R&B charts. In 1997, Tyren formed a group with her sisters called "S.H.E.". They released their only album, "3's A Charm."
