When You're Feeling Gentle Lyrics

Vintery mintery cutery corn, he apple seed and the apple thorn
The wire, briar, limber lock, the three geese in a flock
One flew east and another west, one flew over the cuckoos nest
Pluck a feather, catch a feather to lay upon you
When you're feeling gentle, teach me to be gentle
Show me how to gently guide you home
When you're feeling gentle, give me one more chance before I go
Over the hills and far away, leaving you sleeping in the hay
Full days' work on half a brain, coach home in the rain
Hand on my heart and my heart on the floor
Keys to my ear and my phone to the door
Jack be nimble, Jack be quick
Jack come over, so I can kick you
Gently, teach me to be gentle
Show me every gentle way you know
When you're feeling gentle, give me one more chance to
show you that I'm gentle let me go
let me go
let me go
let me go
let me go
Gentle, when you're feeling gentle let me know
Gently, break it to me gently when you don't
Gentle teach me to be gentle, show me every gentle way you know
Gentle, give me one more chance to, show you I can gently guide you home
Gentle, teach me to be gentle, show me every gentle way you know
When you're feeling gentle, give me one more chance to
Show you that I'm gentle let me go
Over the hills and far away
coach to London in the rain.

Stornoway was a British alternative indie folk band who formed in 2006 in the Cowley Road area of Oxford, UK. The band consisted of singer and guitarist Brian Briggs, multi-instrumentalists Jon Ouin and Oli Steadman, and the latter's brother Rob Steadman on drums. The band was often joined by trumpeter Adam Briggs and violinist Rahul Satija.

In October 2016 the band announced that they would be splitting up after a farewell tour during spring 2017. They played their final show on 12 March 2017.

Named after the Hebridean town on the Isle of Lewis, which appears on all UK televised weather reports and shipping forecasts, the group incorporates string instruments and keyboards, supported by a typical pop backline of guitar, drums, and bass guitar. The band is signed to the British independent record label 4AD. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
