It is the artist’s job to extend boundaries and widen the world, to reinvent themselves at all times and revise their work to perfection. This is OVERHAUL, a manifesto and a promise to themselves to keep their music fresh and original with respect to their musical background, which lies in the timeline of the progressive rock scene from the 70’s to the present.

Their first tangible contribution to this timeline was the in 2014 self-released EP ‘DAYBREAK’. Only a few months later the song 'Three Judges', taken off this EP, appeared on the first physical edition of the internationally renowned Progstravaganza, a stage for new progressive talent, published by Prog Sphere. It brought the band the following critical acclaim: "With OVERHAUL, we are amazed by the diversity of the sound canvas that ranges from symphonic pop to heavy prog and to traditional hard rock and Chopin-like piano," says Lucas Biela on progachives.com.

So what does OVERHAUL sound like? Think ‘Dream Theater meets drum ‘n’ bass’, ‘Haken meets Kamelot’ or ‘Spock’s Beard meets Textures’. A metal attitude complete with powerful guitar riffs, virtuosic keyboards and intense vocals. Alternating contrasting atmospheres and at first sight incompatible influences resulted in a unique, eclectic musical style.

The ‘DAYBREAK’ EP can be seen as merely a prologue to the story of OVERHAUL, that's slowly unfolding. The most important chapters have yet to be written. With a number of successful gigs in their past, including the metal edition of the Sounds Of Fall festival and WinterFest, the band is now looking forward to the next step in their career, and promises to keep looking in that direction, because there lie the boundaries that need to be extended.
