Bassist and composer Andrew Prince performs evocative instrumentals on the Chapman Stick, an instrument that he first saw played by Tony Levin at a Peter Gabriel gig. He has incorporated principles of sound healing and music therapy into his material, which is encapsulated in his beautiful debut album, Band of Rain. All the tracks were composed and performed on the Stick, along with contributions from Brian Gulland of prog-folk band, Gryphon.
Over the last few years Andrew has played at many festivals and venues, including Glastonbury Festival, Guildford Ambient Picnic, Inspiral Lounge, O O T O Festival, Weyfest, Small World, and various arts centres and clubs around the UK and abroad. He also plays bass in a duo with Anthea Neads and their first album, Penhayl is forthcoming. Andrew also co-produced and played bass on Anthea's debut album, Jars of Clay.
During his musical career, Andrew has played with many well known bands and solo artists, including Sham 69, Toyah Wilcox, Damo Suzuki, Classix Nouveaux, Rikki and the Last Days of Earth, Jimmy Edwards and the Profile, Random Hold and many more.
