Rosa Sky is authentic music. Passionate acoustic&electric music – somewhere between folk, blues, country and pop. New album out spring 2015, new electric songs available on Spotify, iTunes Deezer etc. Singer/songwriter Nicole Schouten and guitarist/songwriter Ben Jasink started Rosa Sky in 2007, creating their songs at home at the kitchen table. Both have been musicians for years and originally played in several bands in the punk and rock-scene. Soon more musicians joined Rosa Sky: Henk Mellema (acoustic bass) and Rene Holthuis (acoustic guitar and lapsteel). Nicole is a singer/performer and had a career in Storytelling. The songs of Rosa Sky are all little stories in it self, based on the experiences and emotions we get from living. All original Rosa Sky songs, in a great variety; some fragile, some angry, some funny, some tender. Performances so far have been well received by the public and they are well received. The first CD Sweet Surrender was released in September 2008. A beautiful version of the song Sweet Surrender has been recorded with the Senegalese singer/songwriter Thierno Barry.
Second album All Around Us has been released October 2011. This one was recorded in 2 days, all 13 takes in 1 or 2 times and has a fine live feeling.
All Around Us got good reviews in Musicmaker 11/2011 , Heaven magazine 2012, Fret Magazine Maart/April 2012 and on MusicFromNL, and some songs are being played on Dutch National radio.
