Born in Brussels, Belgium and raised in the United States, Nicole began studying classical piano at age seven. She graduated from the New York High School of Music and Art and studied at Tanglewood Music School and Julliard Conservatory.
Nicole’s lifelong interest in music has blossomed with her understanding of its capacity to provide solace and comfort and to create serene settings that inspire contemplation and encourage healing.
Nicole has performed in California, Mexico, Japan, France, and England. Over the past 45 years, she has performed in concert halls, retreat centers, health care facilities, and community spaces, for conferences, community events and fundraisers, house concerts, and Bread & Roses programs. She has written scores for theatrical productions, film, video, dance, and multimedia events. Her children’s choral song, “Peaceful World,” was selected as the United States winner in the 1979 UNICEF-sponsored New Children Songs competition and was published in Switzerland in LP, cassette, and book formats.
Nicole’s original songs and compositions have been performed and recorded by a variety of artists, including Shaina Noll and the San Francisco Boys Chorus.
Since earning a Master’s degree in Social Work in 1982, she has worked with other professionals in music therapy and related healing modalities.
In 1987, Nicole co-produced her first release, “Rites of the Dolphin,” with Ishtar, a trio of piano, sarod, and cello. In 1989 she founded MOSAIC, a group of women composers, who continue to play and perform together.
Her credits include recordings, film scores, and multimedia works.
