A thrash metal that was originally around as Out of Darkness. While under the Out of Darkness name, they only released one demo, Demo 1991. In 1996, they disbanded. They come back after several years of being disbanded, but they decided to change their name to Return to Darkness. They possibly changed their name to avoid confusion with the Out of Darkness formed by Adam Ubowski & Lori Ubowski and the psychedelic rock band. They formed in 2020 in New York, New York. Return to Darkness consists of Ron Roshong (vocals), Greg Paravati (guitars), Jony Rod (guitars), Sean Weiss (bass) and Forrest Leighton (drums).

Two years after they formed under the name, they released the Pain single. Also in 2022, they released their first full-length album Eternal. In 2023, they released the single Bad Guy, a Billie Eilish cover. For more info and updates on Return to Darkness, you may go to their Metal Archives page.
