The BluesTones are an award-winning all-female a cappella group from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. They were founded by students Susie Gaskins and Laurie Wright in February of '99, and have been melting faces ever since.

Their sixth and most recent album, "Black & Blue," was produced by Danny Ozment of Emerald City Productions (http://emeraldcitypro.com/) and Dave Sperandio
of diovoce (http://diovoce.net/). One of the tracks, "Broken-Hearted Girl" by Beyonce, will be featured on Voices Only 2012, a compilation album filled with some of the best a cappella of the year. The BluesTones were nominated for 2 Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards in the categories of Best Female Collegiate Album - "Black & Blue" and Best Female Collegiate Song - "crushcrushcrush" (Paramore), and were awarded Best Female Collegiate Soloist - Nicola Bertoni on "Broken-Hearted Girl" (Beyonce).

When they aren't belting Celine Dion songs, they enjoy eating most things that are edible and in their spare time they like to teach others how to "creep." It's rumored that Justin Beiber's "One Less Lonely Girl" was written about a BluesTone, and that Lonely Island looks to them for song and video inspiration. They may look like just a group of attractive women that can rock the color blue, but that's not all - they look pretty good in black, too. Read more on Last.fm.
