The Judy Chops formed in late 2008. As the band has grown they have embraced the idea of the "new old school." Culling together their vast influences including rock, pop, reggae, traditional, swing, rockabilly, country, blues and folk the band has developed a sound that is roots music with a modern twist. Besides stunning vocals and harmonies you will hear a band that is unhindered by the normal confines of popular music. Influenced heavily by their musical families and friends, as well as a multitude of popular and independent artists The Judy Chops are a band that can connect with audiences of all ages. We have had the opportunity to open for Acme Swing Mfg. Co. at the Charlottesville Pavilion, and are happy to playing at The Oak Grove Folk Music festival in August 2010 on their MAINSTAGE! Molly and Sally Murphy are featured on the soundtrack of the documentary "Coal Country," and Molly and Bill can be heard every Thursday on the #1 live band radio show in the Shenandoah Valley, WXJM LIVE!
