Dudu Tassa (in Hebrew: דודו טסה) is an acclaimed Israeli rock musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer of Mizrahi Jewish descent. Born on February 10, 1977, in Tel Aviv, he quickly emerged as a pioneering figure in contemporary Israeli rock by seamlessly blending traditional Middle Eastern sounds with modern rock energy. His roots trace back to Iraqi and Kuwaiti heritage, which have deeply influenced his musical style.

Besides enjoying a successful solo career in Israel, Tassa is best known as the leader of Dudu Tassa & the Kuwaitis (formed in 2011), a band that reinvents classic Iraqi and Kuwaiti songs originally written and composed by his late grandfather and great-uncle, Daoud and Salih Al-Kuwaity (صالح و داوود الكويتي).

Notably, his 2009 album Basof Mitraglim Le’Hakol ("At the End, You Get Used to Everything") features a guest appearance by Radiohead’s lead guitarist, Jonny Greenwood. He has further expanded on this collaboration with projects under the name Dudu Tassa & Jonny Greenwood, showcasing his innovative approach to merging diverse musical traditions.

In addition to landmark releases such as Ohev Et HaShirim ("Loving the Songs"), Yoter Barur ("Clearer"), and Mitokh Behira ("Out of Choice"), Tassa has also made his mark as an actor in films like Bethlehem and Lebanon. His work bridges the gap between traditional Middle Eastern musical heritage and contemporary rock, earning him critical acclaim and a devoted following both in Israel and internationally.

Through constant reinvention and creative collaboration, Dudu Tassa continues to push the boundaries of Israeli rock, cementing his status as one of the region's most influential artists.
