中村美律子 Mitsuko Nakamura, affectionately known as Nakamura-san, is one of the best-known singer of "Osaka style" Enka. This style is less formal and sometimes the voice carries a gritty edge to it to emphasize certain lines. The effect is more "gutsy". Nakamura is one of the most popular Enka singers in Japan with more than 30 hits under belt; her biggest hits being "Shiawase sake", "Tsubosaka shouwa" and "Otokomichi". Read more on Last.fm.
