Willz was born Jamaal Williams on January 6, 1992 in Atlanta, Georgia. Born into a family of musicians, Willz has always had a passion for music. At a young age, Willz and his mother moved from Atlanta to Charlottesville, Virginia. In Charlottesville, Willz became exposed to local rap groups such as Gotta Shot Entertainment and Va Dream team and desired to start making his own music. With the support of his former friend Giovaonte Hester pushing and motivating him to pursue his dreams as being the entertainer that he is, Willz performed his first Talent show on April 4, 2003 at Walker Upper Elementary School. Every since that day it has been no looking back for the young artist. As years past, Willz started to in some what, made a name for himself. Performing at various talent shows and music showcases. In seventh grade, Willz joined the Music Resource Center, a recording studio and performing arts center for 7th to 12th grade students wishing to pursue a career in music. For two years, Willz was featured on the center's annual mix tape and made an appearance in the music video "I Need You" with local artist Arliss that still airs on the Public Access Channel. Willz has also received the badge for "Track of the day" from a music networking website Garage Band. Willz has also worked with local artist Bandana Money, Chaos Chytist, and opened for Roc-a-fella recording artist Freeway at his performance at Piedmont Virginia Community College at the age of 14 years old. Willz is known for a ground breaking song he was featured on with local artist Bandana Money and Gangsta Gill "Aim Wit It" (A spin off of Dem Franchize Boyz Lean Wit It), that was basically his turning point to the city. He learned to grow with his peers and always found a way entertain the city. By the age of of 15 Willz was writing songs for himself and for others. Willz has shown his strong songwriting ability by writing any R&B on the songs you hear of his. “I make nothing but hits,” quoted by the 17 year old Rap icon himself.
