Bake Gently is a Manchester-based artist and producer who’s creating his own sound world through the blending of progressive pop, disco nostalgia, and dream boogie. Inspired by great songwriting, truth, and beauty, he aims to strike a balance between bold expression and quiet introspection. With a focus on exploring art, philosophy, politics, and the human mind, Bake Gently aspires to redefine what it means to be a pop artist, pushing musical boundaries while delving into deeper, thought-provoking themes.

Bake wasn’t always Bake however. His first and primary musical forays were that of a bass playing sideman in bands as an early teen, up until graduating from the Royal Northern College of Music in 2021. It was at this point that Bake started releasing music of his own, adopting the alias Bake Gently, which was used by friends as an affectionate nickname from a flip round of his actual name. Bake put out four singles in 2022, all of which originated from material he’d composed while still at the RNCM.

Bake’s sophomore EP, ’Yung Samurai II’, is the sequel to his debut EP, ‘Yung Samurai’, released in 2023. ‘Yung Samurai II’ attempts to delve deeper into the Manchester-based artist’s mind, while exploring life and the world around him, proving to be darker and more open in its portrayal of the human condition.
