Screaming Mechanical Brain (formerly known as Screaming Monkey Boner, abbreviated as SMB) is a four-piece metal/synthpunk band based out of the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. Their signature style combines elements of the heavy-metal, electropunk and at times even "circus music."

SMB fuses every kind of music from throughout history using both digital and standard instruments into a seamless blend of mind blowing rock. There are no walls, there are no boundaries. This band has proven that you can think outside of the box, and still get in people's heads.

Since the band released The Process of Assimilation in 2004, SMB has played hundreds of shows across the USA and sold thousands of records to fans all around the world. In 2005 SMB released The Museum of Barnyard Oddities, a collection of b-sides, covers and remixes that has attained legendary status. In 2006 There Is No God In Space dropped- the band's most daring album to date-and all hell has broken loose. 2008 and "In Defiance of Science" got released, the first album recorded with Turff in the band and it isnt a really well known album from the band. In 2010 SMB released ECNEICSFOECNAIFEDNIREMIX (In Defiance of Science Remix). 2012, The Band's last album dropped, "The Policy of Uniilateral Hate" It was very different from the rest of the albums with most of the original line-up missing and the fast-paced electronic sound. In 2013, following the bands break up, They released one last Single, Holiday in Cambodia, a Dead Kennedys Cover.
