Maya J'an (also Maya J'an B) is a singer and an award winning songwriter who was grew up in Los Angeles (Pasadena and Santa Clarita.) Maya's music is a fusion of dance oriented pop, hip-hop and contemporary R&B.
Under "Maya J'an", Maya debut with a single Cul-de-sac. On Substack, Maya reflects being the black household in Los Angeles growing up, "suburbia teaches you how to be quiet before it teaches you how to be safe."

Maya has written music for a number of artists including Aqyilla, Adanna Duru, and Chloe Jane. She wrote and Produced a song Selenas which was featured on an Oscar Winning Film "Promising Young Woman". The song was her major label debut. Maya is currently signed to Soulpower Productions and was previously signed to Capitol Records.

Maya engages with her fans by sending out zines filled with her latest art pieces and hosting paint and sips. On her Substack blog, she digs deeper into what her music means to her.
