Echo Project formed in November 2009 as a side project for Tom Taylor and Steve Smith of Another Life. The band can best be described as Alt. Rock (with some synth and random effects thrown in for good measure). The band started recording an album to be entitled 'Suspended Animation' in December of 2009 but it was quickly scrapped.

In May of 2010 Echo Project added a third member in Wez Walke and began recording 24 songs to be released as an album entitled 'Headstrong'. Work is still ongoing on the record with recording scheduled to be complete in September of 2010. Recording of the album was actually finished on October 31st. The album is currently being mixed & mastered by Steve Smith, with that to be finished on November 3rd.

The band already has plans to record a follow up, with that recording to start at some point in early 2011. Echo Project started recording their second record on April 25th 2011.

Echo Project's main infulences include Devin Townsend, The Wildhearts, Counting Crows and R.E.M. Their music is a mixture of alt rock, hard rock and heavy metal with some elements of trance and ambient music. The band's lyrics are deeply personal and feature a lot of cross-referencing.

The band's upcoming recording 'Headstrong' has been refered to as a concept album chronchling the lives of the band members from 2008 until 2009.

In December of 2010, Tom Taylor decided to make Echo Project his main project instead of Another Life. He has stated his desire to find a drummer and keyboardist for the group and for them to start playing gigs in the local area.

The band's first album 'Headstrong' was release December 3rd 2010.

The band finished recording their second album 'Wintersongs' on August 23rd 2012. The recording has been dubbed by the band as a better representation of their sound as it was the band's first to be written as an Echo Project album unlike 'Headstrong' which was a collection of previously written material.

'Wintersongs' is due for release on November 5th 2012. The band also has plans to re-record 'Headstrong' as a single disc album, with the best songs off of 'Headstrong' and a couple of new songs.
