distraction4ever is a music duo founded by musicians Beau Geste and Splitshift in 2021. Based on the collision of guitar and bass in a post-rave ambiance, this duo mixes different post-punk influences with Russian new wave inspired vocals. distraction4ever’s music can be characterized by broken amps, analog synths, fast drums, textural exploration and distorted vocals. The group’s first album, Please Don’t Think About Tomorrow, was recorded in its entirety in their multi-disciplinary art studio located in one of Tiohtia:ke/Montreal’s trashy and run-down industrial buildings. The duo pulls inspiration from their lives and those around them in order to create music that explores a variety of topics including addiction, escaping reality, anxious downward spirals, nihilism and pessimism while maintaining a connection to an overall “joie de vivre”.
