Boy Next Door (Stush Mix) Lyrics

ummmmm, yeah ah yeah yeah

Never ever, in a million years
Was this what, I was thinking of
Crazy, some how it never crossed my mind
My first friend becoming my first love

Used to be the one who play with my toys an
Never would of thought of you as a boyfriend
If you'd asked who I was looking for,
I would have said someone like the boy next door
Growing up if you had ever told me,
You'd be the one I'd be wanting to hold me
I would have laughed and said you were crazy
Never be with the boy next door

So hold you, showed you, everthing in my life
When we go cruising in your ride
So why, was I taken by suprise
Found love growing in my own backyard

Playing hide an seek
In the summer heat
Didn't wanted to go inside
Wanna hang out until sunrise
Whenever I was down, never had a doubt
You wouldn't be in my life
Whenever anyone saw me, they saw you too

Used to be the one who play with my toys an
Never would of thought of you as a boyfriend
If you'd asked who I was looking for,
I would have said someone like the boy next door
Growing up if you had ever told me,
You'd be the one I'd be wanting to hold me
I would have laughed and said you were crazy
Never be with the boy next door

Used to be the one who play with my toys an
Never would of thought of you as a boyfriend
If you'd asked who I was looking for,
I would have said someone like the boy next door
Growing up if you had ever told me,
You'd be the one I'd be wanting to hold me
I would have laughed and said you were crazy
Never be with the boy next door

Jamelia was born Jamelia Davis in Birmingham, United Kingdom on January 11 1981. She was signed to Parlophone at the young age of 15, after impressing record executives with self-written a capella songs. In 2000, at age 18, she released her first album Drama. The most successful single was “Money” which featured guest vocals from Beenie Man which went top 5. She was nominated for five Mobo Awards which celebrate music of black origin in 2000, winning one.

Afterwards she retired (temporarily) from music business to give birth to a baby girl in March 2001. While bringing up her daughter Teja, Jamelia made plans for a comeback and in 2003 her sophomore album Thank You was released. The album went top 5 in the UK and sold over half a million copies. It featured her fifth top 40 hit, "Superstar", a cover of Danish singer Christine Milton's song, which gave her international success in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The single shot to #1 in Australia and was certified "platinum". Follow up single “Thank You” went to number 2 in the UK and the track “See It In A Boy’s Eyes” which was co-written with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin also entered the top 5.

That year Jamelia won a record breaking three MOBO awards, winning all of the awards that she was nominated for and she was also one of the nominees for the Mercury Music Prize which celebrates the best of British music.

In the autumn of 2004 she also was asked to contribute to the Band Aid 20 single "Do They Know It's Christmas?". She had a big role in the song, singing with fellow British singer Will Young. She also recorded the theme song for the second Bridget Jones movie, a cover of Sam Brown’s song “Stop”. Like her previous songs this also went top 10.

Her third album, "Walk With Me" is out in the shops now, and features the hit singles "Something About You" and "Beware Of The Dog", which samples 'Personal Jesus' by Depeche Mode.
