Bridges Lyrics

I ain't perfect
No I never claimed to be
And I'm still workin' on a better side of me
Sometimes I drink too much
Sometimes I smoke and cuss
I work hard to play hard hell like everybody does

But I took the long way every lesson I learned
And I gotta scar to show for every stripe that I've earned
But looking back can't help but laugh at all the pages I've turned
No worries it's just water under the bridges I've burned

Yeah I've been real close I've even said those three words
And everybody knows when you take 'em back it hurts
Every little white lie and every bullshit fire
It started the fire when the flames got higher
Just stew up two and smoke the tires

But I took the long way every lesson I learned
And I gotta scar to show for every stripe that I've earned
But looking back can't help but laugh at all the pages I've turned
No worries it's just water under the bridges I've burned

But I took the long way every lesson I learned
And I gotta scar to show for every stripe that I've earned
But looking back can't help but laugh at all the pages I've turned
No worries it's just water under the bridges I've burned
No worries
It's just water
Water under the bridges I've burned

Frontman Michael Hobby (23) and lead guitarist Bill Satcher (22), the co-founders and creative conspirators of A Thousand Horses, have been crafting rock music infused with traditional American flavors of the southeastern US for over half a decade. A Thousand Horses blends blues, R and B, and good old slashing guitars, bass & drums in an elixir that comes out tasting of Small Faces and “Exile”-era Rolling Stones.

The two became good friends after meeting in a local music store back in 2003 in their hometown of Newberry, SC. With a mutual admiration for Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers and a slew of other classic rock records, it wasn't before long the first semblance of what is now A Thousand Horses started taking shape. Having cut their teeth in the southern rock club circuit, Michael and Bill never let an empty room slow them down. This is a band founded upon the collective love of the creative process. "Mission statements are for high schools and politicians - we're a rock n roll band" explained Michael when asked about his goals for A Thousand Horses.

Fast forward to 2010 - After several lineup changes over the years, Michael and Bill have rounded out the band with Bill's cousin Graham DeLoach (22) on bass, Zach Brown (24) on guitar and Shane Lenzen (24) on drums.

With the August 17, 2010 release of their debut, self-titled EP on DGC/Interscope/Van Howes Records, A Thousand Horses are positioned at the starting gate for a busy second half of 2010 and beyond.
