It Was You Lyrics

The two of us are different.
I do homework full-time.
And I like to play around.
But my homework can't hold me
On a cold dark night.
Then you can go to the school counselor
And love
And work that out
Yeah

Let's stop pretending that we don't care
I'll be your carebear, go give you kiss there

It was you all along and I never really saw
What was right there in front of my face
You're the one I miss,
That I wanna be with whenever you're away.
It was you,
It was you,
'Cause you're my one true love
It was you,
It was you,
It was you all along.

You know me better than I even know myself,
You're the only one who understands
I didn't see this coming
But I like how it feels
And I never want it to end, oh no.

It took some time to know what I need
The one that's really perfect for me.

It was you all along and I never really saw
What was right there in front of my face
You're the one I miss,
That I wanna be with whenever you're away.
It was you,
It was you,
'Cause you're my one true love
It was you,
It was you,
It was you all along.

I was such so blind,
It was when you were gone
That I finally realised

It was you,
It was you,
With you is where I belong
It was you,
It was you,
It was you that I really want.

It was you all along and I never really saw
What was right there in front of my face
You're the one I miss,
That I wanna be with whenever you're away.
It was you,
It was you,
'Cause you're my one true love
It was you,
It was you,
It was you all along.
It was you.

Robbie Nevil is an American pop singer/songwriter/guitarist. He was born Robert S Nevil on 10 February 1960 in Los Angeles, California. His surname is often mis-spelled 'Neville'.

Nevil's self-titled debut album in 1986 gave him a string of Hot 100 hits, although his subsequent albums were not as successful. He is best remembered for the song "C'est La Vie," a #1 dance hit that spent two weeks at #2 on the Hot 100 in early 1987.

Between 1986 and 1991, Robbie Nevil recorded three solo albums, the self-titled first being the most successful. It was produced by Alex Sadkin and recorded in England. Prior to this, he was involved in writing material for other Top 40 acts. Nevil also sang a duet with female vocalist Courtney Love at the funeral service for American pop artist Andy Warhol.

In recent years, Nevil has been more involved in producing and writing for other artists than in solo performance. He co-wrote three songs on the chart-topping High School Musical Soundtrack: "The Start of Something New", "We're All In This Together" and "I Can't Take My Eyes Off of You." Read more on Last.fm.
