Paperweight Lyrics

chasing writing on the wall
bullet-proof and ten feet tall
staining minds with every breath
mocking every chance you get

I stand up to you and I see right through you
I hold my fire up to your paper virtue
I stand up to you and I see right through you
I look inside and find there's nothing in you

I scrape my knees and take the fall
bow and kneel before you crawl
weakness pleases, choice upsets
freedom's lost, become my pet

I stand up to you and I see right through you
I hold my fire up to your paper virtue
I stand up to you and I see right through you
I look inside and find there's nothing in you

I want to believe in something I can feel

Tallman was formed in 1999 in Toronto Canada. The band released their Debut EP "Inoculation" later that year gaining the praise of fans and critics alike; The Tracks "Blinder Point of You" and "Tarnished" on Garageband.com are from that EP. Tallman played shows across southern Ontario and began to win over a loyal fan base. In 2000 Tallman recorded some new material including the tracks "Chokehold" and "Cope" also found on this site. In 2001 Tallman formed the Record Company Aperture Music with private investors as a means of recording a full-length album and delivering to the public. The bands Demos caught the ears of producer Sylvia Massy Shivy (Tool, System of a Down, Deftones, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and more. In August of 2001 Tallman traveled to Weed California to record the tracks for their debut full-length album in Sylvia's brand new Radio Star Studios. The recording took two and half months. The vocal tracks started on Sept 11, 2001. The tragic events of that day lent a new relevance to the already aggressive and politically relevant material that Tallman had written. The Album, titled "Mechanism" was Mastered in New York City by Howie Weinberg just six weeks after the attacks on the World Trade Center, allowing the band to view the destruction first hand. Mechanism was released in Ontario in March of 2002 and continues to gain acceptance and praise from fans across North America. The band is currently touring to support this release. The intensity and emotion of Tallman's music takes on a whole new shape when witnessed live, and Tallman's fan base continues to grow.
