The Dream's Not Dead Lyrics

It's getting to that time of night
where we brace ourselves for the sun to rise
It's 3am and all of our friends fell
asleep sitting up in the backseat

We play the radio, the radio soft
We sing as loud, as loud as we want
I feel it in my bones, I feel it in my lungs
that maybe just this once

Oh Oh Oh Oh The dream's not dead
Oh Oh Oh Oh It was just sleeping
Oh Oh Oh Oh The dream's not dead
but I have been up all night

What we have might not be nice
we've got a car that starts most of the time
a full tank of gas, some failures on our backs
but that's enough to drive

sometimes we make everything worse
sometimes we sleep until it hurts
I've been in bed too long, I forgot what I want
but now it's time to get up.

Oh Oh Oh Oh The dream's not dead
Oh Oh Oh Oh It was just sleeping
Oh Oh Oh Oh The dream's not dead
but I have been up all night

The dream's not dead it was only sleeping
when I close my eyes I can see it
the dream's not dead it was only sleeping
while I have been up all night

Candy Hearts are an American pop-punk band from Newark, New Jersey. The band's current line-up consists of vocalist/guitarist Mariel Loveland, drummer Matthew Ferraro and bassist John Clifford. The band was formed by Loveland and guitarist Kris Hayes (formerly of Nightmare River Band) in 2009. Loveland is the sole remaining original member. Their debut album, Ripped Up Jeans and Silly Dreams, was released for free online in 2010. It featured Loveland, Hayes, bassist Greg Baldwin and drummer Nick Noto.

Noto left the group in 2011 and was replaced by Christina Picciano. A new song, "What I'm Made Of," was released for free on their Bandcamp page the same year. The band also released a split seven-inch with Sister Kisser, which featured two new songs. Baldwin departed after the sessions and was replaced by Christian Migliorese. This line-up would go on to record the band's second album, entitled Everything's Amazing and Nobody's Happy. It was released via Kind Of Like Records on September 27, 2011. Picciano was the next member to depart in early 2012, and was replaced by Matthew Ferraro. An acoustic EP was released in March 2012. The band went into the studio with Chad Gilbert of New Found Glory and Shai Hulud months later to record their next EP. They would also get the chance to tour with New Found Glory in the winter of 2012. The EP, The Best Ways to Disappear, was released on November 7, 2012.

In April 2013, Migliorese parted ways with the band; and was replaced by John Clifford. The band also released a seven-inch, entitled Miles & Interstates, via Bridge Nine Records that year. 2014 saw Hayes, the only other original member of the band, depart to start a family and to be a stay-at-home dad. He has not been replaced, coverting the band into a trio. This line-up of the band returned to the studio once again to work with Chad Gilbert on their third studio album. The album, All the Ways You Let Me Down, was released in June 2014. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
