Hope Lyrics

why can't you see you torture me?
you're already thinking 'bout someone else,
when he comes home you'll be in his arms and i'll be gone,

but i know my day will come,
i know some day i'll be the only one

so now you wait for his spark,
you know it'll turn you on,
he's gonna make you feel
the way you wanna feel,
when he starts to lie,
when it makes you cry,

you know i'll be there,
my day will come,
i know some day i'll be the only one

call me selfish, call me what you like, i think it's right
to want someone for all your own
and not to share her love,
cuz i'll have my way, you won't have a say anyway,
cuz i got you,
you don't stand a chance
so now you wait for his cock,
you know it'll turn you on,
he's gonna make you feel
the way you wanna feel,
when he starts to lie,
when it makes you cry,

you know i'll be there,
my day will come,
i know some day i'll be the only one...

my day will come,
i know some day i'll be the only one

so now you want perfection,
i see your self-destruction,
you don't know what you want,
it's gonna take you years to find out,
i'm not giving up,
and when you've had enough
you'll take your bruised little head and you'll come running back to me

you know that i'm gonna be the only one

Descendents are an American punk rock band from Lomita, California, USA. They are known for being one of the early bands in the hardcore punk scene to sing about more personal and comical topics reflective of their own lives.

They were formed in 1978 by guitarist Frank Navetta (RIP) , bassist Tony Lombardo and drummer Bill Stevenson. Shortly after forming they enlisted Milo Aukerman and made what started out a surf band into a full fledged punk unit. The Descendents diverged from their punk peers perhaps because of the Beach Boys influences and sang about topics that touched many young punks' lives like parents, food, girls and being rejected.

This band separated due to Milo actually going to college (UCSD), like the title of their album. This and other constraints have made them famous for their long hiatuses, sometimes spanning a decade in length. The band is now spread out across the country and their future is somewhat uncertain. Lead singer Milo Aukerman currently resides in Newark, Delaware. He is a biochemist for the internationally known DuPont Chemical company, which is based out of Delaware. However, whenever the end of the Descendents seems to be approaching, Milo pops up again and the band releases a new record.

They have released 7 full length albums:
* Milo Goes to College (1982)
* I Don't Want to Grow Up (1985)
* Enjoy! (1986)
* All (1987)
* Everything Sucks (1996)
* Cool To Be You (2004)
* Hypercaffium Spazzinate (2016) Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
